
Gwen has more than 20 years’ experience in fundraising, in both the United Kingdom and New Zealand, and she is committed to driving positive change in all she does.
Building the Auckland Health Foundation from scratch, Gwen leads the team to ensure best fundraising practice, deliver the best possible experience for supporters, and meet the foundation’s objective to ensure world-class healthcare in Auckland.
Gwen was previously General Manager – Northern Region at St John New Zealand, where she led a team of more than 5,000 paid and volunteer staff, ensuring the charity’s achievement of all financial and non-financial goals and targets within the region. Prior to that, Gwen was Engagement & Marketing Director at Oxfam New Zealand, having moved from the United Kingdom, where she was Head of Fundraising – North London & East of England at NSPCC (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children).
“It is my life’s work to support organisations to grow, thrive and make a difference in our world by embracing and developing best practice fundraising, communications, strategy, planning and community engagement,” says Gwen.

Candy has a 20 year history of fundraising and marketing across the United Kingdom and New Zealand, working for organisations that strive to make a lasting positive social impact.
In November 2019 Candy joined the Auckland Health Foundation, where she is responsible for raising funds, together with our community, to support the vision of world-class healthcare in Auckland for everyone.
Most of Candy’s career has been in the health sector, fundraising for diabetes and cancer research, patient and family support services, emergency air services and healthcare equipment.
Candy lives on Auckland’s North Shore with her husband, two children and their dog, Sheriff.
