There are over 400 volunteers’ working across Auckland DHB’s hospitals. Their dedication and support are a crucial part of our hospital services. Volunteer Services are run by Auckland DHB’s volunteer management team. They offer on the job training and ongoing educational support.
Auckland DHB looks for volunteers who have a mature outlook on life, are team players, thrive in a multicultural environment, and have a strong focus on customer service. If you have a high level of communication skills, patience, and tact, we’d love to hear from you.
Auckland DHB asks for a commitment of a minimum of one shift per week, on fixed timeslots between 8.00am and 7.30pm. Various shifts are available. Auckland DHB is looking for a long-term commitment of at least a year from all volunteers.
The volunteer recruitment process includes a criminal history check, an immunity blood check, two reference checks, and a Vulnerable Child Act (VCA) check.
